Dear MECCSA Colleagues,
With a long way still to go until our 2016 Proposal Deadline, we are pleased to announce the first major wave of early acceptances, from more than a dozen countries, to The Fifth Annual London Film and Media Conference, ‘FILM & MEDIA 2016’.
‘FILM & MEDIA 2016: Questions of Cultural Value’ will be held at the Friends' House Conference Centre, Bloomsbury, London, UK on 7-9 July 2016.
The event will explore, analyse, and critique the domains of film, television, and digital media in relation to pressing and wide-ranging questions of ‘culture’ and ‘value’.
Organised by Academic Conferences London, the event has become a significant international forum for doctoral students, early career researchers, established Faculty, and professionals in the media and cultural industries, from 30-40 countries. In the course of the numerous unsolicited appreciations quoted on our website, the event is celebrated for its internationalism and its strong collegial values.
The full list of Early Acceptances - together with the Call for Papers, the Online Proposal Form, and online registration - can be found on our website at www.thelondonfilmandmediaconference.com.
Proposals for 20-minute Papers and for three-Paper Panels are warmly invited no later than our Proposal Deadline of 31 March 2016; early submission is strongly recommended. Invited Speakers must register no later than 30 April 2016 in order to be included in the Conference Programme.
Proposals are considered by means of sympathetic Peer Review, with a turnaround time of 7-10 days. We also welcome Delegates who wish to audit the proceedings rather than to present a Paper.
Conference Papers are considered for publication in our series of Conference Reader ebooks. ‘THE LONDON FILM & MEDIA READER 3: The Pleasures of the Spectacle’, comprising 60 essays from nearly two dozen countries and running to nearly 700 pages, was published in Autumn 2015.
‘THE LONDON FILM & MEDIA READER 4: Visions of Identity - Global Film & Media’, will be published in late Spring 2016. Downloads are available from our website.
Hoping that the event may again be of interest to the MECCSA community,
With warmest regards,
The Conference Team,
FILM & MEDIA 2016.
