Dear Colleagues,
I'm helping a team bidding to the Heritage Lottery Fund. We are looking for
help with the Community and Educational Activities in the project.
The Activities Plan (largely KS 2 & 3, English and History; plus community
and family events and re-enactments) explores and celebrates the history and
modern relevance of rational dissent and the foundations of feminism. There
will be some digital elements as well as site-based events.
The development phase of the bid will have funding to develop the activities
plan. So we are looking for expressions of interest in that consultancy
(second half of 2016). Our immediate need is for someone to cast an eye
over our outline plans and give us feedback to strengthen them and an
indication of appropriate budget.
If you know anyone who could help, I'd be grateful if you would forward this
message.
Thanks, Wendy Sudbury
Outline information on the project:
The bid concerns a Unitarian Chapel in Hackney founded in 1708, the oldest
Nonconformist place of worship still in use,
with strong ties to radical social reform. Its most famous Minister was Dr.
Richard Price, remembered for his role in the Revolution Controversy and for
his pioneering work in finance and statistics. The person Price most
influenced is arguably Mary Wollstonecraft, author of A Vindication of the
Rights of Woman. The church seems to be the only building Mary
Wollstonecraft was associated with that still stands.
The Activities Plan aims at a living centre for exploring and celebrating
the history and modern relevance of rational dissent and the foundations of
feminism.
