Dear Colleagues,
EIFL (Electronic Information for Libraries) works with libraries to enable access to knowledge for education, learning, research and sustainable community development in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. http://www.eifl.net/
The eLibrary Myanmar project has enabled faculty and students at 7 universities have access to an impressive range of high quality international journals, databases and e-books since April 2014. http://www.eifl.net/eifl-in-action/e-library-myanmar-project
The project has also been a powerful catalyst for wider change - from massive institutional investment in technical infrastructure, computer equipment and library facilities in order to support access to an eLibrary, to increased status of libraries and librarians and their improvements in English language skills. However, there is a need for further training for library staff.
UKSG is proud to be able to offer free travel to the UK and conference places for two young librarians, chosen by EIFL, to attend the UKSG Annual Conference in Bournemouth from 11-13 April 2016.
However, to maximise their training opportunities, EIFL would love to hear from potential academic library hosts who would be interested in offering further support, such as accommodation and insights into the management of e-resources in the UK academic library setting.
Please contact Rima Kupryte, Director of EIFL at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> for further details.
