HSBC UK Archives Manager: permanent position based in London
This is an exciting opportunity to join HSBC's team of archivists spanning London, New York, Hong Kong and Paris. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the unit's activities to capture, preserve and promote the historical archives of HSBC; with specific responsibility for HSBC UK (formerly Midland Bank), including legacy firms.
Key areas of responsibility will include collecting, cataloguing, research and enquiry work. Strong curatorial and presentation skills are required for outreach work such as exhibition displays, website content and guided tours. The successful candidate will also participate in HSBC’s digital archive and data quality programmes
Requirements:
The jobholder must have a first degree and a post-graduate qualification in Archives Management (or a related discipline such as Records Management - with specialism in Archives).
The jobholder will have previous experience working in Archives, and be able to demonstrate the delivery of successful projects to date. Experience in corporate archives and staff management will be beneficial.
You will have enthusiasm and drive to identify and lead projects. You will also have a strong strategic understanding of how Archives can be used to support the objectives of a multinational business.
Excellent communication; customer service and project management skills are essential. Familiarity with Preservica and Calm software - and previous experience working with digital records - will be an advantage.
