The British Library has been recording selective UK television news programmes since May 2010, and has extensive coverage of the November 2015 Paris terrorist attacks, including non-stop coverage throughout the main three days on BBC News and France 24, and with coverage from other channels including Sky News.
We don’t have recordings going back to 2005, but the British Film Institute will have some BBC news recordings from 2005 and possibly Sky News as well, though I don’t believe that they record regularly from Sky News. (Its Redux-based service, when that launches again, will go back to 2007, as I understand it).
In both cases, the student would need to come to London to view the material, because neither the BFI nor ourselves are able to make the programmes available remotely as with BoB National (because we do not qualify as educational institutions).

Subject: [lis-e-resources] Archive footage of live news broadcasts
Hello
I am trying to obtain some archive news footage for a student who wishes to compare the live news coverage of the July 2005 London terrorist attacks and the November 2015 Paris terrorist attacks. The student needs to look at the whole live broadcast during a set time period for comparison. The particular footage we are looking for is
BBC News
07/07/2005 08:30am - 08/07/2005 08:30am
13/11/2015 21:20pm - 14/11/2015 21:20pm
Sky News
07/07/2005 08:30am - 08/07/2005 08:30am
13/11/2015 21:20pm - 14/11/2015 21:20pm
We have a subscription to Box of Broadcasts (BoB) so have access to the BBC News channel footage from 2015, but BoB doesn't go back as far as 2005 and doesn't cover Sky News.
Does anyone know of a resource which provides archive live broadcast footage of Sky News or archive live broadcast footage of BBC News?
Thank you in advance for any advice
