Hi Blackboard-Turnitin users
This is another Turnitin-related error that has come to my attention in the last week as a result of the delete link introduced in the 2.6.6 Building block update.
Some of our lecturers have reported that, when their assignments have been restored, all rubric data is gone and they instead are greeted with a 43:43 error, which implies that the rubric has been unattached at some point.
I spoke to Turnitin on Friday and they were unable to confirm why this had happened but I noticed that, when an assignment is restored, none of the settings of the dummy assignment (created for Turnitin to overwrite in the Blackboard course) are overwritten. This includes the title, dates and also the rubric.
Therefore, I suspect that Turnitin drops the rubric in transit, then when it finds that no rubric is attached it returns the 43:43 error. The problem is that there's then no way to retrieve the data that was in the rubric previously, so all marking done by rubric is lost.
I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this as it's a pretty nasty bug and forcing us to make a quick decision to move to 2.6.7
