Postdoctoral and PhD positions in Computational/Theoretical Biophysics
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At least one postdoctoral and two PhD positions in the field of
Computational and Theoretical Biophysics are available within the
"Innovative Medicine Initiative" project "New Drugs 4 Bad Bugs". Aim of
the project is to enhance the understanding of the influx and efflux
processes of antibiotics molecules
through membrane proteins into bacteria. The successful candidates will
work directly together with experimental groups doing research ranging from
crystal structure determination, electrophysiology, microbiology to
pharmaceutical applications. A direct collaboration with the
world-leading pharmaceutical companies in this field of research is
another advantage of the project.
Information on our research group can be found at
http://ukleinekat.user.jacobs-university.de.
The PhD (3 years) and Postdoctoral (1 year; possible extension at least
until the end of 2017 upon mutual agreement) positions are available
immediately.
Highly motivated candidates with a strong background in (bio)physics or
chemistry and experience in (classical) molecular dynamics simulations
and/or
electronic structure methods are encouraged to apply. Proficiency in
programming and scripting is an advantage.
Interested candidates should apply by sending an email message along
with a CV to Ulrich Kleinekathoefer
([log in to unmask]).
Looking forward to hearing from you!
