"Communication, Technology and Creativity"
International Communication Students Congress (ICSC 2016)
Faculty of Communication, Maltepe University
Istanbul, 25-26 April 2016

Call for Papers

Communication technologies not only put people instantly in touch with
others around the world, but also have shaped up a new global culture. This
new lifestyle build above digital communication technologies is observable
in a wide range of areas from arts to politics and affects our lives in a
myriad of ways. Through the enormous improvements that propel humanity from
industrial society to information society, the concept of “creativity”
increasingly attracting attention in the way we use technology. Alongside
the rhetoric phrase “hand-in-hand development” of technology and
creativity, the potential that digital technologies carry for enabling
creativity reveals an even endless work frame.

The trilogy of communication, technology and creativity gives plenty of
scope for exploration: The conceptual approaches come along with the
questions on how technology and creativity endorse each other or how
technology and creativity transform the nature of communication. In terms
of its practical aspects, the creative acts and strategies of both
individuals and institutions constitute even a greater field of study,
depending on the increasing domination of digital tools and platforms.

The 2016 edition of Maltepe University's International Communication
Students Congress (ICSC 2016) will focus on the main theme of
“Communication, Technology and Creativity” in order to provide a platform
that students from different cultures share their knowledge, experiences
and discuss their expectations from future.

- Social media and everyday life storytelling
- Social media and integration with the real world
