Dear Ilan,
Very interesting but I think I have heard of a similar act of good gesture which if correct is certainly a fantastic example of brotherly love among states. I learnt from anecdotal sources that Nigeria gifted a bit of its maritime territory to Benin republic just so that Benin could have a little bit of window to claim an EEZ as well. In other words from the configuration of maritime coasts Benin republic should have been hard done by but Nigeria unilaterally gifted a few miles just to create this window. Now this will need big time collaboration. But you will be surprised what you hear from 'our sources' as journalists will put it.
Best Regards
Gbenga
