Hi folks,
I have a question for you, if you'd be so kind. In our libraries people have to show proof of address to be able to access our public access computers. People without proof of address can still access these computers if they are over 16, for 15 minutes as a guest.
However, this does restrict access for people who do not have proof of address. This includes people of no fixed abode as well as people who may move or be moved without warning (looked after children, refugees, travellers).
There was a scheme proposed a few years ago by the society of chief librarians called "Keep IT moving" and this involved the production of photo ID that could be used at any library, however this never really took off as a national project.
Do you know of any similar projects that could do the same thing, or is there any other way of having some form of ID that could be used?
I will keep you informed if I find something!
Thank you very much
