Postgraduate Conference 'Masculinities, Violence and (Post-)Conflict
Thursday, 14 January 2016, Ulster University, Belfast, Northern Ireland
The Transitional Justice Institute (TJI), the International Conflict
Research Institute (INCORE) and the Institute for Research in Social
Sciences (IRISS) at Ulster University are hosting a one-day postgraduate
conference on 'Masculinities, Violence and (Post-)Conflict' on 14 January
2016, at Ulster University Belfast Campus in Northern Ireland.
The conference brings together a vast variety of scholars and students
working on the intersections between gender, masculinities, violence and
(post-)conflict, and includes a diversity of papers with different
methodological and theoretical approaches and with divergent empirical foci.
The event will offer academic presentations, peer discussion, networking
opportunities and expert feedback in a supportive environment.
A keynote speech will be delivered by Dr. Chris Dolan from the Refugee Law
Project (RLP) in Uganda, and a concluding presentation will be given by
Prof. Brandon Hamber, INCORE, Ulster University.
The conference is supported by TJI, INCORE, IRISS, International Alert,
Saferworld, Conciliation Resources and the Political Settlements Research
Programme.
