FRINGE Centre: (In)Formal Launch
FRINGE: The Centre for the Study of Social & Cultural Complexity
3 December 2015, 6-8pm
Institute of Advanced Studies, Common Ground, Wilkings Building South Range, UCL
We are delighted to invite you to the FRINGE Centre launch party. The FRINGE Centre explores the roles that complexity, ambivalence and immeasurability play in social and cultural phenomena. It is an initiative founded and funded by the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies and housed at the UCL Institute of Advanced Studies.
The FRINGE Launch will take the form of a high-pitched, fast-paced panel discussion in which FRINGE academics introduce Flagship Projects <https://www.ucl.ac.uk/ssees/fringe-centre/projects>, ranging from Trans-Centric Urbanism to Silent Resistance.
The evening will begin with each of the FRINGE members below delivering a provocative 3-minute exegesis explaining their project’s relation to one of the letters in the FRINGE acronym, among these:
F (Fluidity); R (Resistance); I (Invisibility/Informality); N (Neutrality); G (Grey Zones); E (Elusiveness).
