Salary: £28,695 - £37,394
A computer officer is required to develop and manage a database and image repository from a large, multi-centre study of the molecular pathology of breast cancer. The post will be based in the Centre for Cancer Genetic Epidemiology at Strangeways Research Laboratory. This post is funded by a European Union Horizon 2020 grant.
Applicants should have a good degree in computer science, statistics, bioinformatics or a related scientific discipline or equivalent experience and a sound knowledge of database management in MySQL, Oracle or equivalent with experience of programming in PHP/Perl and a sound knowledge of UNIX/LINUX. Experience of specialist pathology database software such as PathXL or Zegami would be an advantage. An ability to interact with other scientists is essential.

The funds for these posts are available for 2 years from start date.
