Hi Ivor,
We Are also in the process of reviewing and nailing down standards for
analogue photographic material digitisation, we have nothing solid at this
stage but happy to share when we do. Initial thoughts are on having
minimum standards for each material type (35mm, 120, 4x5 etc) and having a
maximum ceiling when we get to the larger film types. Our current
standards are based around A3 300dpi but we have been having serious
discussions and will probably look at the scan once approach, so
digitising at a much higher spec where we can capture all the potential
dataš and never having to scan again (except for exceptional
circumstances) hence the need for a maximum when it comes to old 10x8
glass plates which have a lot of potential informationš.
Happy to chat in the meantime but we can share our standards when we have
them confirmed (sometime in the new year but donšt hold your breath) :)
Sorry to have missed you all at the conference this year
Cheers
Robin
