We're looking for an editorial assistant to help us deal with the turnaround for each issue of Studies of Comics (published twice yearly). The role is primarily administrative, however we will welcome your input and critical opinion on submitted work at all stages of the publication process. As such we hope this post would provide a great learning opportunity and indication of peer esteem for a postgraduate or early career researcher.
There is a small annual payment of 20% of the journal royalties (currently approx. £250 GBP per year). You will also receive an inside cover credit and a free personal subscription to Studies in Comics. The nature of journal publishing means that there will be many months where nothing is required from you, and even at our busy points, your duties should require no more than 2-3 hours work per week.
Please email [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> for a full description of duties. Those interested in the post should send a short CV (along with a covering email that summarises your background and includes a brief expression of interest) to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> on or before 15 December 2015. There is no requirement to be based in the UK and we welcome applications worldwide.
The successful applicant will commence their duties in January 2016, on production of SiC 7.1. We will work closely with you during this initial issue and offer detailed guidance on the process, along with any other support you may need.
We look forward to working with you!
Julia and Chris
