The Nuffield Council on Bioethics presents
(un)natural – an evening of poetry and debate
Monday 30 November, 7-8.30pm
Rich Mix, 35-47 Bethnal Green Rd, London E1 6LA
What do people mean when they say genetic modification is wrong because it’s unnatural, or that natural medicine is better for you? Over the past year, the Council has been exploring how different people use the words natural, unnatural and nature in debates about science, technology and medicine, and has been working with performance poetry organisation Apples and Snakes to get insights from poets.
Join us to discuss the findings of the project at an evening of poetry and debate, including performances by commissioned poet Kayo Chingonyi, the winner and runners up of our (un)natural poetry competition and a panel discussion with members of the project team.
The event is free to attend but places are limited. Email [log in to unmask] to book your place.
More information about the Council’s work on naturalness is available at www.nuffieldbioethics.org/project/naturalness
