Dear all,
You may be interested in this funding source which I don’t think is well known. The Royal Commission for the Exhibition of 1851 is the same body originally instituted to create the Crystal Palace exhibition. Apparently the Commission did so well that Prince Albert kept it on to promote the development of British science and industry based on the Exhibition’s profits and it continues in that purpose today!
As you can see from their flyers they fund PhDs at universities but also have schemes to promote research in industry including part-time PhDs.
I’m not particularly affiliated with this so please contact them directly with queries, I just hadn’t heard of the schemes so thought others might also be interested.
Regards,
Jeremy
