AI-2015 is the thirty-fifth SGAI annual conference in this
long-running series. It offers the perfect opportunity for you to
update your knowledge of current AI developments and applications,
and to meet with leading AI practitioners in a relaxed social
environment. This year's conference brings technical papers on the
latest developments in AI, presentations from industry practitioners
with practical experience of applying AI in the real world, and a
range of workshops - ideal for those seeking to expand and deepen
their knowledge of a wide range of AI techniques. All this in the
historic surroundings of Peterhouse, Cambridge's oldest college.
Workshops are now FREE for those registering at the main conference
WORKSHOPS
There is a preliminary day (Tuesday December 15th) devoted to
half-day workshops on:
- Visual and Cognitive Analytics
- Evolved construction-kits for minds (Introduction to the
Meta-Morphogenesis project)
together with the 20th UK Case-Based Reasoning Workshop (full day).
This day is included FREE for attendees of the main conference, but
can be attended on its own at a special rate.
MAIN CONFERENCE
The main 2-day conference (Wednesday December 16th-Thursday December
17th) includes:
- Keynote lectures:
* Prof. Lars Nolle (JADE University of Applied Sciences, Germany) on
'Artificial Intelligence: Evil - or Just Not Happening?'
* Prof. Steffen Staab (University of Southampton) on 'Modelling the
Web'
- Technical stream refereed papers on Knowledge Discovery and Data
Mining, Machine Learning and Knowledge Acquisition, and AI in Action
- Application stream refereed papers on Applications of Genetic
Algorithms, Applications of Intelligent Agents and Evolutionary
Techniques, and AI Applications
- Poster sessions on emerging research and applications in
intelligent systems
- Special session: short presentations by poster authors
- Panel session on a topical subject: "Is AI an existential threat to
humanity? If so, in what way and what can be done about it?"
- AI Open Mic session
- Welcome reception on evening of December 15th
- Gala Dinner on evening of December 16th
This year's conference will be held at Peterhouse College in
Cambridge. In addition to the formal sessions, the conference
programme includes a welcome reception and a Gala Dinner. Plenty of
time has been inserted into the programme to allow discussions with
other delegates and time to make new contacts and renew old
acquaintances.
AI-2015 offers a valuable opportunity to keep up to date with
developments in AI and to share experiences in the practical issues
of developing AI based systems.
