sexual, o potencial tráfico e a globalização.
The purpose of this panel is to discuss what trans bodies means
(transgender, transsexuals, transvestites – out of these categories is the
concept of cross-dressers), which in Portugal have either of the social
imaginary perspective, whether in ethnography evidence, a strong connection
with sex work, potential trafficking and globalization.
Resumo longo / Long abstract
conceptual do conceito transgénero.
mercado do sexo (Agustín, 2007; Piscitelli, 2013).
The purpose of this panel is to discuss what trans bodies means
(transgender, transsexuals, transvestites – out of these categories is the
concept of cross-dressers), which in Portugal are linked in terms of social
imagination and ethnography itself, sexual work, potential situations of
trafficking and social dynamics brought about by globalization. The subject
of transsexuality has gained prominence in recent years with the increased
visibility of people with other gender identities, and the conceptual
creation of the transgender concept. Butler (1990) argues that gender is an
imminently transgressive border. When we study the way people present their
gender identity are not, as we know, talking about sex, but of symbolic,
social and political self-identification. Following several works and
published texts on the issue of sex work and trafficking in persons,
proponents consider crucial the greatest debate among different
disciplinary perspectives on the transgender visibility and presence in the
sex industry (Agustín, 2007; Piscitelli , 2013).

Obrigada!
