The Global Pricing & Market Access (GPMA) department at F. Hoffmann-La Roche, Ltd. based in Basel, Switzerland is seeking a two-year contract position for an HTA Epidemiologist to provide expert epidemiological support on systematic reviewing and evaluation of clinical trials, network meta-analysis and indirect treatment comparison, and assessment of treatment and HTA guidelines to inform product value strategy and HTA submissions, market access strategy, and clinical development planning.

This position is based within the Modeling, Outcomes Research, Statistics and Epidemiology (MORSE) group, which consists of epidemiologists, statisticians and health economic modelers. The group is responsible for all disease areas represented by Roche broad product portfolio including oncology, metabolic, central nervous system disorders, infectious and inflammatory diseases. Working collaboratively with colleagues both within the GPMA department and across the Roche organization is essential to ensure that epidemiological data informs strategic decision making and deliverables include systematic reviews and meta-analyses of clinical trial data, real-world data analyses, patient pool forecasting, and formulation of payer evidence.

The HTA Epidemiologist will:
 
• Provide strategic input and support development of product value strategy throughout all stages of product development, e.g. Pharma Partnering, pre-LIP, IDCP, FDDP, IBTs, LCTs, post-Launch
• Systematic Reviews of the clinical trial evidence base and Network Meta-Analyses/Indirect Treatment Comparisons : Qualitatively and quantitatively summarize evidence base of clinical trials, treatment and heath technology assessment guidelines for the generation of product value messages to support internal documentation, submissions to payer and reimbursement authorities, and inform the clinical development plan
• Collaborate across departments to ensure HTA-focused evidence needs are considered at key strategic decision points during product development
• Summarize evidence base regarding descriptive epidemiology of target disease including incidence and/or prevalence, historical trends, major risk factors and biomarkers and unmet need incl. major endpoints and treatment options
• Generate protocols to enable analyses of real-world data to inform strategic decisions and initiate and lead any collaboration with external vendors
• Lead epidemiological and outcomes research related projects and align discussions with business analysts, affiliates and other internal stakeholders
• Organizational and Functional Development : Provide internal training tools to enhance internal knowledge base, advance functional expertise and collaborate with experts in the field
 Requirements:

We are looking for candidates with the following profile:
• Science or medical degree
• Post-graduate qualification in epidemiology or related discipline (Masters and preferable with a PhD) and three of more years’ experience in either the medical/pharmaceutical industry
• Experience in designing, conducting, analyzing and interpreting systematic reviews and meta-analyses of RCTs and experience in patient pool forecasting
• Expert knowledge of epidemiological principles and methodologies within at least one of the following disease areas: Oncology, CVD or CNS, excellent data analysis and interpretation skills
• Relevant experience in designing, conducting, and/or analysing real-world data studies would be preferable
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Team player as you will be working in multi-cultural and cross- functional teams
• Fluency in English both oral and written, fluency in another European language is an asset
