Event Reminder - Representing race & black Britain in theatre, film, television & digital media, 6 November, National Theatre, London
There are only a few remaining tickets for the ‘Representing race & black Britain in theatre, film, television & digital media’ symposium. If you would like to attend, please book by following the link below.
The one-day symposium will take place from 9.30am to 6pm on Friday 6 November at the Cottesloe Room, Clore Learning Centre, National Theatre, London.
This symposium brings together scholars and practitioners from different disciplines and artistic backgrounds to discuss how black Britain is represented in theatre, film, television and digital media and think about the numerous ways in which and reasons why interconnections between these media are forged and/or employed. We will examine and debate historical, political and aesthetic continuities, connections and crossovers and the implications of these relationships to issues of black representation and its analysis. In doing so, the symposium aims to nurture new debates, establish new approaches and forge new interdisciplinary relationships for future assessment of black culture and its representation in Britain.
Confirmed speakers include Mojisola Adebayo, Oladipo Agboluaje, Stephen Bourne, Lindsay Johns, Osita Okagbue, Deirdre Osborne, and Winsome Pinnock.
The symposium costs £16.
