Hi Imelda et al.
I am getting confused with the first European Week of Scientific Culture, which was 1993. William Waldegrave was guest of honour at the launch party, along with some Eurocrats. My job for the evening was looking after the coats, as I recall.

Hi Imelda,
I can remember working on PUS (as it was then called) issues during the BSE crisis, which I think was in the early 1990s. Probably we need to ask John Durant – he was there at the beginning. Last time I heard he was in the States….

Form an orderly queue for an episode of Radio 4’s ‘The Reunion’....
I think the first National Science Week was called SET7 (seven days) in 1994...when I was at the Science Museum.

I remember the first time I heard about psci-com – I think it was the launch - which was at a BA meeting in London, and it was definitely a presentation by the Wellcome Trust. If I remember rightly it was also the point at which National Science Week started (was it called ‘SET' followed by the year?), though I may be completely wrong to put the two together. I started here in 1995, so psci-com started after that. And I remember COPUS!

Seconded. While we’re indulging in positive ageism, I’ll just say that I was head of communication at the MRC in 1990 – but that was in another country……..
