BPP University has grown rapidly since gaining degree awarding powers in 2007 and now consists of four academic schools: BPP Law School, BPP Business School, BPP School of Health and BPP School of Foundation and English Language Studies (SOFELS). BPP’s Library and Information Service aims to provide library services to support BPP University programmes at learning centres across the UK and online.
The role
The Library Manager (Business Programmes) will work with the Library Manager (Law Programmes) to provide managerial support and guidance to the information services team in London and the South of England to ensure BPP’s library service meets the needs of staff and students at those learning centres. The Library Manager (Business Programmes) will be the library team’s main liaison with BPP Business School and as such will have specific responsibility for the provision of library and information services to students studying Business School programmes and those studying pathway to Business via BPP’s School of Foundation and English Language Studies (SoFELS).
Responsibilities will include the line management of Information Services Assistants; designing and delivering face-to-face and online training programmes for students and staff; and working with the Acquisitions and Systems Librarians to develop and maintain collections.
What we’re looking for
With a professional qualification in library or information science together with experience of providing information literacy and study skills support in a higher education environment, you will have an understanding of the key print and online information resources to support business programmes. You will be self-motivated with a high level of IT literacy including MS Office programmes, Library Management Systems and Virtual Learning Environments. With excellent communication skills, you will have experience of managing or supervising staff and an enthusiasm for delivering an outstanding service
