Please pass along this message to any interested students who are excited about granulites!
Up to 3 years of funding is available to support a motivated Ph.D. or M.S. student at the University of Arkansas who will characterize, model, and date the evolution of melt-weakened lower continental crust, as recorded in deeply exhumed rocks of the Athabasca granulite terrane in northern Saskatchewan. Fieldwork will begin in early July 2016, and the successful applicant must be prepared to do 3-4 weeks of remote fieldwork with me and another student at that time.
Interested students should contact me directly via email at [log in to unmask] and include a brief 1-3 page summary of your interest and relevant experience in structural geology, igneous & metamorphic petrology, and/or geochronology.
With best regards,
