Dear Colleagues,
Is anyone else having trouble with National Probate Registers? Specifically, with them taking up vast amounts of space while at the same time being (1) not archives (2) not the only set in existence (3) all online anyway?
Here at Wirral Archives we have an extensive run of the things from 1858 to 1943. Has anyone had success in giving them to a grateful recipient? Or selling them for a tidy sum? Or putting them in a skip under cover of darkness?
Please pass on any National Probate Register - related anecdotes to me at [log in to unmask], and I may publish them in a bestselling coffee-table style book.
best wishes,
Will Meredith
