Quantitative Analyst/Senior Quantitative Analyst (depending on experience)
Salary: £competitive depending on experience plus discretionary bonus
Reporting to the Head of Quantitative Analysis and working alongside
the trading team, the Quantitative Analyst will be responsible for all
stages of developing and implementing innovative prediction models for
sports including data collection and processing, exploratory data
analysis, diagnostics, communicating results and integration with
automated trading algorithms.
Depending on experience this may be a senior role and involve
supervision of other team members.
All candidates should possess:
* Either: (i) a PhD in statistics, mathematics, physics or other
discipline with a strong quantitative component or (ii) equivalent
industry experience
* Experience developing forecasting models including the use of
methods such as GLMs, Monte Carlo simulation, numerical optimisation,
smoothing and Bayesian statistics
* Excellent programming skills in either Java, C++ or C
* Extensive experience using R or Python for data analysis and model development
* Familiarity with the betting industry and/or sports prediction models
The ideal candidate will also demonstrate:
* Experience with database management systems
* Parallel programming skills, either GPU or CPU based
* Knowledge of reproducible research tools such as Sweave, R Markdown
or iPython notebooks
* Concrete experience writing web scraping tools or a working
knowledge of HTML, XML and XPath
* Familiarity with Unix-like operating systems and command line tools
