Job Title: Head of the Biostatistics Unit

Reporting to: Head of Division of Population Health Sciences or nominee

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong leadership, coordination and technical skills to head a new Biostatistics Support Unit (BSU). The successful candidate, who will be appointed at Associate Professor or Professor level – commensurate with experience and track record – will coordinate and support the work of new staff members. The post-holder will also work closely with 2 existing senior Biostatisticians, and with research investigators across RCSI who are experts in a range of research methods, including clinical trials and observational study designs.
The post-holder will lead and coordinate early-career biostatisticians; will build RCSI capacity and support, expanding needs for research methods and biostatistics expertise in existing and new research programmes; and will contribute to the design and/or delivery of undergraduate, short-course, postgraduate and doctoral taught course programmes. Commensurate with the seniority and importance of this new post, and in order to provide effective and efficient services, it is expected that the successful candidate will be ambitious and flexible in terms of hours of work.
