The Single Source Regulations Office (SSRO)’s principal aim is to ensure that good value for money is obtained for the UK taxpayer in Ministry of Defence expenditure on qualifying defence contracts and qualifying sub-contracts, and that single source suppliers are paid a fair and reasonable price under those contracts.

We are currently searching for both Analysts and Senior Analysts to join the team at the SSRO. Both types of role report to the Chief Analyst within the Regulation Directorate. You are likely to work on projects within the Analysis team as well as contributing to specific on projects staffed jointly by the one of the other teams in Regulation (Regulatory Policy, Investigations)
You will be a key member of the analysis team tracking trends in single source procurement. You will analyse economic and contract data to provide high quality management information and presentations and have the ability to rapidly make sense of complex data. You will use statistical tests, financial modelling and econometric techniques where appropriate to develop reports and tools. You will also excel at communicating your ideas and insights, both in presentations and written reports.
For these roles we are looking for people with experience of applying a range of analytical techniques in a regulated industry context, likely to be gained in areas such as management consultancy, audit, competition, economic regulation or defence. You will need to have a track record of working successfully in complex, dynamic environments, and the ability to work with a diverse set of stakeholders across government and industry. You will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a track record of being an effective communicator and providing policy insights that shape the direction of key projects in the organisation.
