Hiya
Does anyone's Trust have a Spinal Unit and if so do they have a blood gas analyser? The reason I ask is that we have a Spinal Unit that have had a blood gas analyser for quite some time but only do a couple of hundred per year and the wastage of consumables is really high. Obviously they aren't too keen on giving up their analyser. I have suggested an IStat for them but they came up with a string of arguments against it including it's suitability for patients with such tight oxygen titration. I am keen to hear what other Trusts do.
Kind Regards
Sharon Roberts
