Hi All,
We've received a couple of emails from staff and students today having trouble logging in to JSTOR from off-campus and on further investigation it turns out our Shibboleth login link has disappeared.
I subsequently found the following service alert tucked away in the JSTOR help pages which explained that it should reappear soon:
http://about.jstor.org/jstor-help-support/website-support#395983
* *SERVICE ALERT*
Has your login link disappeared? We apologize for the inconvenience, but we are undergoing a platform transition that requires us to temporarily remove this link for Shibboleth users. If your login link disappeared, that's you. Not to worry, simply go to your institution's library home page and find JSTOR in your Databases A-Z list or eresources section and click through from there. We'll have the login link back as soon as we can.
As a member of a participating institution, you might have access to JSTOR from an off-campus location. This is something that you will need to check with your library, although you can sometimes check through our Institution Finder feature<http://www.jstor.org/action/showLogin>. In many cases, in order to access licensed library resources like JSTOR from an off-campus location, it is necessary to log on via your library's web site. Check for a link to your library's remote access option on the JSTOR login page<http://www.jstor.org/action/showLogin>, or visit your institution's website and look for links to the library, online databases, or electronic resources to find options for access to JSTOR. If you are unable to locate this option at your institution, or if you need additional assistance, please contact your librarian or electronic resources administrator to learn about getting remote access to JSTOR.
I haven't seen this reported elsewhere so thought it was worth a mention here although only some institutions appear to be affected.
All the best,
Andrew
