Liverpool launch
14.30 - 16:30
Sunday 15 November 2015
This year we are organising a launch 'Tea & Testimony' event in the Central Library, Liverpool.
Stephen McGann, currently known to millions as Dr Patrick Turner from Call the Midwife will be reading from some of the city records and will talk about how the story of Liverpool is mirrored in his own and many other family histories.
This is a free event but you will need a ticket. For those interested in the history of Liverpool, this is an event not to be missed.

Always use photographs for impact
Stories with photographs will almost always get more space in a newspaper than those without. So always think, pictures, and video if the local paper has a website too. You must be prepared to take your own photographs as local and regional papers increasingly rely on reader-submitted pictures to illustrate stories. Including a photograph of your archive (and archivists) in your press release is a positive thing to do.
Always ask if the paper is able to send a photographer to your event. If they are unable to do so, take a photograph yourself or arrange for a colleague to and make sure the paper knows this is what you are doing.
