Background
Jisc has commissioned Knowledge Integration Ltd, working with user interface experts GOOII and with Sero Consulting, to redevelop the system and website for the Archives Hub. We are very keen to involve researchers in the process, to ensure the website meets user needs. Please do consider whether you can spare a few hours - it will help enormously if we can ensure that our new site meets your requirements.
Over the 9 months to project completion in July 2015, we are looking at three phases of consultation on the website layout and features, taking advice from both archival practitioners and end users, including all types of researcher:
* Phase 1: October - November
* Phase 2: January - February
* Phase 3 - April -May, but timing dependent on development progress
Each phase will typically involve 3 steps, the first and third being geared to your input:
* Step 1: Introduction to the issues involved, with website examples including interesting approaches from elsewhere
* Step 2: We develop web pages to build on Step 1 ideas and advice
* Step 3: Step through updated versions and take further feedback
Phase 1 Sessions
For the online sessions that follow you will NOT need any special equipment or facilities - just a web browser for logging on to the session for which we'll send out the session URL well in advance.
