Temporary contract until for 36 months
The post comprises of the roles of Citizen Science Research Associate
(0.5FTE) and Outreach Officer (0.5FTE), the latter incorporates the roles
of Ogden Science Officer and South East Physics Network (SEPnet) Outreach
Officer.
We are leading the Dissemination, Education, and Citizen Science work
package of the EU Horizon2020 project 'Astronomy ESFRI and Research
Infrastructure Clusters' (ASTERICS). A major activity of this work package
is to create mass participation experiments and educational resources
targeting the science-inclined public of college age and over. You will
arrange international workshops to facilitate the design and delivery of
the citizen science experiments, and act as the project manager for the
experiments. You will also be responsible for the websites and the
creation of promotional brochures.
The Ogden Trust funded activity in physics outreach to local secondary
schools, including support for the OU's robotic telescopes, whilst the
SEPnet component covers a wider outreach remit including children and
adults.
