Hello all,
Thanks to Sam for sending round the minutes, and to standing in as Chair at the AGM (Jenny sent apologies as she was unable to make it to Exeter); and to Matej for taking notes as stand in Secretary!
Just to follow up regarding this new notion/position of 'librarian'.
This list-serve does not have an overly exacting amount of traffic, and we encourage folk to ask questions, share resources, engage in debate etc. on it ... One thing that happens on other list-serves, and is a little contentious, is people asking for others to forward papers/articles that they are unable to access themselves. As discussed at the Away Weekend and also at the AGM, there is certainly a need for pygy members who do not have institutional access to be able to find specific resources on participatory related issues - but such requests are rare on pygyrg list.
Discussion at Away Weekend centred on how, in general, folk are able to directly email authors and ask for such resources; at the same time, we decided it may be a good idea to have a named person to act as librarian, such that IF ANYONE IS UNABLE TO GET HOLD OF A PARTICULAR PAPER OR BOOK CHAPTER, especially those listed on pygy webpage, they have a named point of contact.
So, that's me. If you are having trouble getting hold of pygy literature, please get in touch with me and I will do my best to help out. [log in to unmask]
Best to all
