CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research (located near Geneva, Switzerland), is offering a two-month internship for students of journalism or science communication.
The intern’s primary responsibility will be to source and write feature articles for 'The Science Node': https://sciencenode.org/. This free online magazine reports on the research made possible by distributed and high-performance computing. The publication also reports on topics related to big data, high-speed networking, citizen science, and much more.
The intern will be based in the CERN IT department and may also be asked to contribute to the communications efforts of the department.
We’re looking for a candidate with excellent English skills and some journalistic/communications experience (even if only through your degree course). To be eligible for the internship, you must be enrolled as a full-time student and be at least 18 years old.
The internship will run for two months and the proposed start date is Monday 12th October. The successful candidate will receive a subsistence allowance of CHF 1,500 per month. The CERN housing service will be able to offer assistance in arranging local accommodation for the duration of the internship.
