We use WifiSpark as a centralised captive portal service with different splash pages at Oxford University Museums (The Ashmolean,Oxford University Museum of Natural History, The Pitt Rivers Museum and The Museum of History the Science) .
More information is available here on one of our presentations .

Unless already considered ,one would need to differentiate between the captive portal / logging service with the actual wireless infrastructure (in our case Aerohive) along with the wired network (Dell / Aerohive in our case) underpinning the transit for best results.
Hope this helps

Subject: Authentication for Public WiFi
Dear all,
I'm looking into setting up public WiFi access with an authentication system.
If anyone has experience of this and/or can recommend a provider please get in touch!
I see that WiFiSpark have done this for several museums.
Many thanks
