“European Futures”

The European Studies Program at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, invites participation in its annual European Studies Symposium. This interdisciplinary conference aims to explore and conceptualize the future of European Studies as a discipline and the ways it intersects with the theme of the future for Europe itself, while promoting exchanges among interdisciplinary scholars active within the field of European Studies. The keynote speaker is Dr. Simon Glendinning, Professor of European Philosophy in the European Institute at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Please submit 250-word proposals to [log in to unmask] by October 15, 2015.
Topic suggestions include, but are not limited to:
- political and cultural crises related to Europe
- migrations to and from Europe
- the humanitarian crisis in the Mediterranean
- the future of European cultural production
- global effects of the Euro
- terrorism(s) and Europe
Selected papers will be solicited for the publication of an anthology.
