As part of a significant expansion in our Criminology curriculum, we are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Criminology in the Department of Social Policy and Criminology within the Faculty of Social Sciences, where you will build on your proven successful experience in teaching and research, work collaboratively in team contexts, and promote the values of The Open University.
Applications from those with expertise in any area of criminology are welcome, but we would particularly welcome applications from individuals who can demonstrate expertise in one or more of the following areas: Crime, criminalisation and class-gender-race-sexuality; Criminological research methods (especially quantitative methods); Green criminology and eco-harms; Human rights and human security; International criminology; Policing; Post-colonial criminology; Social harm; Social justice; State crimes and harms; War crimes and genocide.
You will be required to help develop the curriculum and teaching in Criminology, for our highly successful and expanding undergraduate teaching programmes as well as assisting with ongoing developments at postgraduate level and to make significant contributions to consolidating and extending our successes in this field across the UK and beyond.
You will also be expected to make effective contributions to the thriving research culture of the Department, and will have an established research record and agenda directly relevant to the concerns of the Department, where you will be expected to contribute to research, publications and public engagement activities as a member of one or more of the Faculty's research centres.
