Dear all -
Following a successful application to AHRC, we are currently building partnerships for the first round of the new Oxford University Museums AHRC Collaborative Doctoral Partnerships (CDPs), which supports three fully-funded doctoral studentships per year from 2016.
Proposals to co-supervise a studentship are made jointly by Oxford University Museums staff and academics based at any UK Higher Education Institution (other than Oxford) - where the doctoral students will also be based. The scheme operates across the four museums of Oxford University - the Ashmolean, the Museum of the History of Science, Oxford University Museum of Natural History, and the Pitt Rivers Museum.
We can accept CDP proposals on any topic provided that the proposed project represents excellent research, and is feasible for collaborative study at doctoral level. In addition to these criteria, priority will be given to applications that involve new or unexpected collaborations across AHRC’s subject areas, which have not previously been developed by the museum or museums in question, and which make a demonstrable impact across the academic, cultural and public spheres. All proposals must fall within AHRC’s areas of subject coverage.
Full details are on the Oxford CDP web page - http://www.museums.ox.ac.uk/collaborative-doctoral-studentships
More general details of the scheme can be found on the CDP Consortium web pages here -- http://www.ahrc-cdp.org
The deadline for proposals is 5pm on 27 November 2015. The successful proposals from the first round will be advertised as studentships in early 2016, with the first cohort of students starting in Autumn 2016.
Informal enquiries from potential partners based at UK Higher Education Institutions (other than Oxford), who are unsure of whom to approach within Oxford University Museums, are welcome, and should be sent to [log in to unmask]
