The seminar will be of particular interest to people who work on/have an interest in the built environment and the public realm. It will provide an update on emerging ideas in terms of inclusive design, design standards and inclusive environments.

The Raising Standards in Inclusive Design seminar has 3 great speakers:
Alastair Somerville, Director of Acuity Design Cognitive Accessibility Making physical and digital places that are inclusive and happy. Using new research and project experience, Alastair shows how we can create places, physically and virtually, that people can visit that are both comprehensible and useful. Cognitive Accessibility combines ideas from a range of disciplines to enable, fundamentally, happiness.
Nicola Mathers, Lead Advisor, Design Council CABE Inclusive Environments Programme Hear about Cabe’s programme to promote inclusion in the planning, design, construction and management of the built environment, including the resources available and about good practice approaches across the country.
David Petherick, Chair of British Standards B559 Committee (responsible for British Standard BS8300) Inclusive Design Standards; British Standards, European Standards, present and future.
