How do the different LIMS systems handle the AKI algorithm where a sample has no time of collection defined?
With our new LIMS we will be receiving orders from secondary care - where time of sample collection is recorded electronically at phlebotomy, and from primary care - where this time may not be available as we rely on this being handwritten onto the sample and form. (Our GP Order Comms is not yet set up to print the sample labels).
Our current LIMS allows a request to be entered with no time of collection. I am aware that other systems may default to a time of midnight if no collection time is entered.
Has anyone determined what is best practice where there is no time of collection?
