Sad, isn't it? Of course, Ezra Pound +didn't+ establish Chinese poetry
among English readers; if anybody did it was Arthur Waley, before and after
Pound. While Chinese culture itself is a racist, or sinicist, construct;
read just a little Chinese history, it's a nightmare of genocide and
cultural eradication. All the big cultural monopolists, whether it be
America, Islam, China or even the Blackpool Promenade (that insidious
cultural cancer that has replicated itself across the world) want to
establish fake identity everywhere. As for the offending poet, I guess he's
typical of how poetry has been absorbed into the morass.
