THE WORKSHOP
This practical workshop provides a rapid introduction to using surveys for
impact evaluation purposes.
The event addresses the following:
- Why to use surveys for impact evaluation.
- How to decide whether to use online or iPad-based surveys.
- When you should NOT use surveys for impact evaluation.
- Avoiding common pitfalls in impact evaluation survey design: How to
spot a bad survey question and response options.
- How to develop a good survey question and response options.
- How to analyse the data from open-ended questions in your survey.
THE SPEAKERS
Experts in impact evaluation will be presenting at and facilitating the
event:
*Dr Eric Jensen* *and Monae Verbeke.*
Dr Eric Jensen Dr Eric Jensen (Associate Professor, Sociology Dept,
University of Warwick) is a leading social scientist specializing in
innovative methods of conducting impact evaluation research. He holds a PhD
in Sociology from the University of Cambridge and has led many
groundbreaking projects on new social research technologies.
Monae Verbeke
Monae Verbeke (MSc, University of Warwick, Sociology Dept) is an
international evaluator, specialising in the use of mixed-methods
evaluation and conducting impact evaluation. She has conducted
mixed-methods research for a wide-range of projects, including arts
museums, science festivals and education research.
