Thanks to you both. I tweaked the cg_vbm8_longitudinal.m code such that it produced modulated images at each time point. It was a (seemingly) pretty simple matter of just changing a variable flag from the warp (unmodulated) to modulated, non-linear only. I will try the same matrix model using unmodulated data to see if there’s an appreciable difference. I was seeking the modulated data for the very reason that Helmut brought up.
