I want to thank Colin for the contribution he's made in starting and continuing the list. Its been of tremendous use to me (out on the 'edge of Empire' as we used to call ourselves), and it will I hope be a means of advertising my forthcoming history of the Locomotive Engine Drivers' Union of Western Australia which is due out this year (after many trials and tribulations I've finally found a publisher).
Although Colin makes it sound easy, I know from colleagues managing a History list here that it can be anything but, just from the time point of view alone. Colin, I'm sure we'll continue to see your contributions from time to time while you're 'lurking in the background'.
All the best
Bobbie

Subject: Change in list 'ownership'
Having been (nominally) the list owner/administrator of railway-studies
since it was started way back in the 1990s, I'm delighted to say that Dr
David Turner <[log in to unmask]> has taken over with immediate
effect. This is such a well-behaved list that I'm sure no-one will
notice any difference - and if they do, that matters will have improved.
David is in charge of delivering the Diploma in Railway Studies at York
and as graduate of the Institute of Railway Studies & Transport History
is well-versed in this group's little ways...
It's been fun so far: I'll still be lurking in the background.
Colin
