Hi all,
Just to let you know about a workshop coming up at London Zoo on 17th September all about working with young people. This is run by the charity Kids in Museums but not restricted to museums, as we all want to get more young people involved in what we do, whether we have a venue or not.
The day will be chaired by Rachel Moss, Young People’s Programme Manager at the National Portrait Gallery.
She will be joined by some of the gallery’s Youth Forum and…
* Katriona Smith from London Zoo, who will tell us all about their Zoo Academy programme with local Pupil Referral Units.
* Andrea Pierides of Trinity College and members of Arts Award Youth Network talking about Arts Award.
* Janet Stott of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, who will share insights about working with young people towards the equivalent science award, CREST.
* Celine West of UCL Museums, talking about running summer schools for Year 12s and Year 8s.
* Jennifer Blay from Langley Academy who will tell us about the Stronger Together project that got secondary students into museums doing cross-curricular projects.
