Looking to support from an OH perspective employees working within a wood working environment which is new to us within our OH remit.
I was hoping for some advice regards OH requirements and anything specially I need to be aware of.
I am attending a meeting with the H+S team and looking to address the following
Agenda based around Safe use of woodworking machinery Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (as applied to woodworking machinery). Approved Code of Practice and guidance and other more general points
• Regulation 4 Suitability of work equipment
• Regulation 5 Maintenance
• Regulation 7 Specific risks
• Regulation 8 Information and instructions
• Regulation 9 Training
• Regulation 11 Dangerous parts of machinery
• Regulation 12 Protection against specified hazards
• Working environment and site layout including storage
• LEV and health surveillance
• PPE (Noise and dust)
• Fire and explosion risk
• First aid and emergency response
• Manual handling
• Recruitment / selection of competent employees
• Time scales
Skin issues / checks
