UKeiG has great pleasure in announcing the winner of the 2015 Information Manager of the Year, which celebrates the person who, in the opinions of the judges, has made the greatest contribution to information management or is the year's best exemplar of an information manager - in short, the person who has made a significant contribution to the discipline through his or her work and professionalism. For 2015, the judges chose Lara Whitelaw - University Metadata Development Manager, The Open University - as someone who has had an impact on the external visibility of her university and raised the profile of Information Management across the organisation. At the same time, she has succeeded in offering practical solutions to everyday work problems.
The nomination highlighted not only Lara's work to confirm the use of metadata throughout The Open University, but also her involvement with the OpenLearn free learning web site and her development of taxonomies for the OU intranets.
The Award will be presented to Lara at the 2015 Intranet Now Conference on 13th October. Full details of the achievements which led to Lara winning the award can be found on the 2015 Award Page.
