Full Time: The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range
will be Grade 6B £29,193 - £30,783 per annum, Grade 7 £33,353 -
£40,313 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The UCL Department of Geography's Geospatial Analytics and Computing
group are seeking a highly-motivated individual for the role of
Research Associate on the recently funded Engineering and Physical
Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) ‘UK Regions Digital Research
Facility’ (UK RDRF) led by Professor Paul Longley. The appointee will
be responsible for working as part of a large multi-disciplinary team
within UCL.
The position is funded for 36 months in the first instance, further
funding to support the post may be available.
The successful candidate will have a PhD or a Master’s degree graded
at distinction in a quantitative speciality within a social or
engineering science discipline, or a science discipline with
experience in social science applications. They will have excellent
knowledge of statistical tools and applying spatial analysis methods
as well as being knowledgeable on issues involved when handling
spatial data.
It will be necessary for the successful candidate to be eligible for
and to apply for Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance
to enable them to work in the secure data laboratory.
Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD; if
this is not the case, initial appointment will be at research
assistant Grade 6B (salary £29,193 - £30,783 per annum) with payment
at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD
thesis (including corrections).
