I agree entirely. They are very useful documents but could do with being updated on the basis of what people have actually found on sites over the years. For example, the list of metals, PAH, asbestos, oils and PCB's in rail situations can be quite extensive from the profile, but what you really will have a chance of finding very much depends on exactly where on the railway you are and what actually took place there. You can waste quite a lot of money, resources, time and only end up with some very negative results doing everything every time. So something about the general, yes, but something a bit more useful about how to narrow that general list based on the specifics of the site would be useful to emphasise.
